With over two decades’ experience manufacturing computer hardware and peripherals, Razer is one of the best options for a new keyboard. Sure, a keyboard isn’t quite as thrilling as an overclocked 12-core processor, but a quality one will improve your experience like no other component can. I did consider Apple’s Magic Keyboard over this, but the higher key travel, backlight and ability to pair with up to 3 devices swayed me over to the K7 and I don’t regret it at all.A well-rounded computer setup has several parts - monitor, graphics card, audio interface, chair - but the keyboard might be the overall MVP. I haven’t found the top row of combined number/function keys to be too much hassle to access for the Mac/iPad functions (you just need to press and hold the fn1 key first) but do appreciate the more compact size when they eliminated the extra row of function keys by doing this.Īll in all.a great, very compact keyboard if you’re looking for ultimate portability in a mechanical keyboard.
I do have Apple’s Smart Keyboard but would much rather use the K7 for general typing at home because it’s a much nicer typing experience. While the K4 is used for the main desktop keyboard, I’m using this much lighter and more compact K7 with my iPad and its portability allows me to move it around quite easily everywhere I choose to use the iPad. As I type this review on it, I’d have to it’s another fantastic keyboard from Keychron (I also have the K4). Their customer service is responsive and very good, but you’re here to hear about the keyboard.
